BISMARCK, N.D. - Painting on wood is an art form thought to have been around since the ancient Greeks. A Fargo woman is putting a modern twist on the early art form.
Karissa Deyla travels the state and hopes to one day travel the nation teaching wood painting.
"My friend actually starting doing these and she like 'You need to do these, you're creative, you're crafty.' She's like: 'This is perfect for you' and I was really hesitant at first, because I didn't have a side, didn't have any tools to work with wood or anything like that," said Deyla.
Deyla says you don't have to be a professional to paint on wood and says the art style seems to be growing.
