Jay Z and Tidal celebrating Prince with album celebrations

The streaming platform has announced a series of listening events across the globe for members to experience the late singer's new album, "Originals."
Album release celebration will be held in various countries including the United States, Spain, Poland and Brazil.
Rapper and mogul Jay Z, who purchased the streaming service in 2014, will host one of the events in Los Angeles on June 6.
Prince would have turned 61 on June 7 and the 15-track album is meant to in part celebrate that day.
It features 14 previously unreleased recordings that highlight the impact Prince had on modern music and the formation of many artists' careers.
"Originals" will feature Prince's versions of tunes the legendary artist wrote and gave to others to turn into hits.
The singer died of an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl in April 2016.
The tracks were selected collaboratively by Jay Z and Troy Carter, on behalf of The Prince Estate and starting on Wednesday Tidal users can pre-save "Originals" in order to have the album added to their "My Collection."
Users will be notified once the album is live.
Prior to his death Prince had partnered with Tidal on a series of exclusive releases, including HITNRUN Phase One, HITNRUN Phase Two, the livestream of Prince's Rally 4 Peace concert as well as a weekly "Purple Pick of the Week" series featuring new tracks, exclusives, rarities and more from the Vault, curated personally by Prince.
"After one meeting, it was obvious that Jay Z and the team he has assembled at Tidal recognize and applaud the effort that real musicians put in2 their craft 2 achieve the very best they can at this pivotal time in the music industry," Prince said in a statement at the time. "Secondly, Tidal have honored Us with a non-restrictive arrangement that once again allows Us to continue making art in the fashion We've grown accustomed 2, and We're Extremely grateful 4 their generous support."
'Originals" will stream exclusively on Tidal starting June 7.
